Artificial Intelligence (AI) has had a significant impact on Urdu poetry, as well as on various fields of literature. With the help of modern AI technology, not only new poetry is being created, but its use is also increasing in the analysis, editing, translation, prosody testing and literary research of poetic texts. Although the creative process is mainly associated with human emotion, imagination and experience, artificial intelligence is playing an important role as an assistant and facilitator in this process.Artificial intelligence can create ghazals, poems, rubai, qa’ta and Blank verse with the help of large language models. These models learn classical and modern poetic capital and create poems according to a specific meter, rhyme, radif or theme. For example, if a poet needs a ghazal on “love”, “homeland”, “nature” or “loneliness”, AI can present multiple poems in a few moments. In Urdu poetry, adherence to meter, meter, rhyme and radif is of fundamental importance. Artificial intelligence-based software helps in the prosody analysis of poems, identifies rhymes and provides suggestions for correcting meter errors. This has made learning poetry relatively easy for novice poets. AI can conduct stylistic, linguistic and thematic analysis of the poetry of different poets. For example, a comparative study of the words, metaphors, symbols and themes used in the poetry of Meer, Ghalib, Iqbal, Faiz and Ahmed Faraz becomes possible in a relatively short time. This opens up new dimensions in literary research.
