Abstract

The concept of postmodernism has now become common in Urdu, but the relationship between it and post structuralism is not yet widely known. Often, both terms are used together and interchangeably. However, it is clear that post structuralism is a theory that discusses philosophical issues, while postmodernism is more of a situation than a theory, that is, the rapidly changing state of modern society, the mood of the new society, problems, mental attitudes or the change in the socio-cultural atmosphere or culture that has the status of a crisis. For example, we can say, POST-MODERN CONDITION “post-modern condition” but we cannot say “post structural condition”, so post structuralism is more related to theory and postmodernism is more related to the mood and culture of society. However, it is not that there have been no attempts to theorize or theorize postmodernism. Some such attempts have been made and this series is ongoing. Some thinkers have discussed both the postmodern situation and theory, but if you look closely, a large part of the theory is the same as that of post structuralism, that is, the philosophical premises of postmodernism are the same as those of post structuralism.
