In Pakistani higher education institutions, instructional management remains a critical yet underexplored area, and students may face learning challenges linked to uneven pedagogical practices. This study aims to examine the effects of teachers’ instructional management on students’ academic self-efficacy, academic performance, and loyalty, while assessing whether academic self-efficacy mediates the relationship between instructional management and academic performance. Using a structured questionnaire, data were collected from 345 undergraduate students at public sector universities in Sindh, Pakistan. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was employed to assess the measurement and structural models prior to hypothesis testing. The findings indicate that teachers’ instructional management significantly enhances students’ academic self-efficacy, while academic self-efficacy shows a significant relationship with students’ academic performance and loyalty. However, the mediating effect of academic self-efficacy between instructional management and academic performance was not supported. The study implies that education faculties should strengthen instructional planning, delivery, feedback, and monitoring to improve student confidence, outcomes, and institutional attachment; these improvements are also relevant for sustainability- and renewable-energy-related learning where persistence and engagement are essential. The novelty of this study lies in integrating instructional management, self-efficacy, academic outcomes, and loyalty in Pakistan’s higher education context while offering implications for sustainability and renewable energy education.
