Abstract

The purpose of this research study was to analyze the depiction of racism in the movie Django Unchained. In this qualitative research the ‘’ belief system’’ that one human race is superior to the other has been both explicitly and implicitly presented through different dialogues being delivered by various characters. From the title of the movie Django unchained the very concept of slavery is given. Similarly, the protagonist of the movie goes through many phases where he being black is considered as the slave of the white men. By analyzing the movie and various scene in it the researcher concludes that the movie Django Unchained is based upon the theme of racism. The paper concludes that Django Unchained manages to present the theme of racial injustice, oppression, and psychological effects of slavery successfully, thus offering much insight into the long-term effects of the racism issue in the American history.
