The purpose of this research is to explore the influence of self-esteem, body image satisfaction and academic performance on psychology students. Knowing the effects of self-esteem and body image satisfaction on academic achievement may provide insight into significant psychological determinants that might impair or advance students' education. Body image perception can affect the individual in a different manner like psychologically, emotionally, etc., and thereby impact their self-esteem and have a greater influence on their academic performance. This study is intended to identify how body image and self-esteem are related to academic achievement. Cross-sectional design was used, where 300 young adults between the ages of 18 and 25 years were selected by non-probability convenient sampling from private institutions. Self-esteem was assessed through the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES), satisfaction with body image via the Body Areas Satisfaction Scale (BASS), and school performance through the Academic Performance Rating Scale (APS). SPSS version 26 was used in analyzing the data, and significance was set at p < 0.05. The outcomes showed that a significant positive association existed between body image satisfaction, self-esteem, and school performance. Increased self-esteem and higher satisfaction with their bodies were correlated with better school performance, confirming the interdependence of the variables. Some gender differences emerged, with men experiencing a little higher self-esteem and body image satisfaction, though these weren't significant. The research also found that self-esteem strongly predicts both satisfaction with their bodies and academic achievement, emphasizing its central position in psychological and academic health.
