Abstract

This study aims to explore the Na‘at poetry of Sabih Rahmani through the lens of post-postmodernist literary theory. While traditional Na‘at has long been rooted in classical reverence and devotional aesthetics, Rahmani's work introduces a nuanced blend of emotional intensity, contemporary consciousness, and a transcendental literary voice that resonates with the spiritual and cultural dilemmas of the modern world. Post-postmodernism characterized by a return to sincerity, spirituality, and ethical depth after the relativism and irony of postmodernism provides a fertile framework to examine how Rahmani redefines devotional poetry in a fragmented age.                           The research highlights how her Na‘at moves beyond surface-level praise to engage with themes such as existential yearning, identity, fragmented faith, and spiritual renewal. By using intertextuality, symbolism, and emotionally charged yet sincere language, Rahmani bridges the sacred and the personal, offering a voice that is both traditional in reverence and modern in expression. This paper argues that her poetry reflects the paradigmatic shift in contemporary devotional literature, where emotional authenticity and spiritual engagement replace intellectual detachment and ironic distanance. Ultimately, this study contributes to understanding how post-postmodernist sensibilities are reshaping Urdu Na‘at literature, with Sabih Rahmani as a significant contemporary voice in this evolving tradition.
